Happy fall everyone. The colors here in Oklahoma are not what they are in Utah or Colorado. This is a red tree near my bank, not sure what kind of tree it is.

Kodak photo of the day!
In June of this year I moved to McAlester, OK. I've had a hard time adjusting to the different surrounding's. After living in Utah and Colorado, Oklahoma is a lot different. I'm back taking pictures and will try to post more here.

Donny and I went to Moon Lake on Saturday to take pictures. The camp ground was closed for spraying. We settled for the southern part of the lake. As you can see the aspen are still in their spring buds. It was a great morning. We saw a few deer and a small heard of elk. We had a wonderful time.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone......I had a great weekend.

week 16 paw
It's been a dry spring here. Water is coming from the heavens. We've had a week of little rain showers, this has helped so much. This time last year everything was so green, today there are trees still in their spring buds. I love to see the green fields with red rocks. This field is on a back road I take home from work.

Flowering plum tree. I went into the city (Salt Lake City) and the trees were blooming. I just wish the sky was blue. A storm was coming and the wind was blowing. I didn't have much time, just one half hour. I was shooting this tree and a women came up to me and asked me what I was doing. I told her that I do love these trees.

week 12 PAW 2007
This is an old homestead in rural Utah. Not sure how old it is. The light was right so I stopped the car and had to walk back about 120 feet to get this image. I really like the light at this time of day and how the clouds just hung there waiting.
There was a problem in taking this shot. There is a house across the road and they have dogs. I mean big and scary dogs, three of them. One just came up to me, very friendly. Two were barking and growling. I was so scared because I didn't see them as I walked down the road. The mean one kept on barking and come toward me. I just started walk back to my car, trying not to run or move to sudden. The dog was about 20 feet away from me, closer to me than I was to my car. I was so scared that I wanted to cry. I finial made it to car, feeling a little sick to my stomach, and drove away. What made me mad was that the owners of the dog were home and working outside and did nothing to control the dogs. I'm not sure how many of you have been in this situation before. What would you do?

"Barn in a sea of pinon trees" I love this barn. Its sits way up at the end of the road. There are so many pinon trees around it that it's hard to get a pick of it. I took it at this angle to get the cloud in the frame. The evening sun was just wonderful, my favorite time of the day.

week 10 PAW 2007
This was my entry for the "furniture" Challenge. I placed 30th out of 163, with a average vote of 6.1164. I call it "armchair traveler". I was at a friends house and the sun was setting. I grabbed the chair and just barely caught the light. The light was gone just like that, no time for any more shots.

week 9 PAW
I was so busy taking pics for the furniture Challenge this week that I didn't have time for the PAW. Here is a outtake of the challenge. The pic I entered into the "furniture" challenge is something completely different. It would fit better on this blog. I will post later. wish me luck :)

Week 7 Paw
This is an outtake for a DPChallenge "Bad". I call this "dependence", because of our dependence on oil in this country. This is a Oil Well Pump Jack.
I saw this pump jack and it was not moving. I drove up to it and set up my tripod and camera. Looked into the viewfinder and all of a sudden it started working. I tell you, I about jump out of my skin. After looking around to see if anyone was watching me, I continued to take pictures.
In this part of Utah there are a lot of these. Big oil boom here. Some call them nodding donkeys. Did you know that they make a sound like a horse snorting?

week 5 PAW 2007
This was something that I was working on for the DPChallenge Personification II challenge. The image that I chose is something else. I call this one "bad comb-over" . As you can see we still have a lot of snow here.
Ok, here is the image I entered into the challenge. "Wait" I ranked 6th place out of 218 entries. This is my second highest one yet. (happy feet all day long).
I found this bone (I think a cow bone) and then waited until I had a somewhat blue sky. I had to drive for just a little while until I saw this fence post. I'm very pleased with this one.

week 4 PAW 2007
I know that I'm late with this post. I've had the shot, but no time to post. I will do better now (with sundays off).
This is a drive way filled with ice. The temperature finally got above freezing during the days, but freezing at nite. This road is just down the road from me. Good news, they have a back way into their house.
